Namrata Deepak Sawant is journalist and media activist based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She has been associated with PUKAR, Mumbai for the past three years. Namrata also contributes to the Marathi daily Punyanagri on developmental and youth issues. Namrata will be contributing part time towards the Commutiny Media Network.
As a Commutiny Media Associate, Namrata will be writing on youth issues as well as publishing newsletter on youth agenda. Namrata will also be coordinating a youth group aimed at creating media products strengthening the youth development agenda.

Naveen Jhajharia is a youth activist and a CYC fellow for the year 2009. He works near Kempty in Tehri-Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. His work involves creating learning space for rural youth in the district. Naveen will be contributing part time to the Commutiny Media Network.
As a Grassroots Media Associate, Naveen will be writing on the issues concerning youth from a psychosocial perspective. His writings will be based on and inspired by his experiences, journeys and interactions with people.

Noor Mohammed Husen Rathod is a youth activist working with Yuvashakti Community Based unit of Jan Vikas in Halol, Gujarat. He will be contributing full time to the Commutiny Media network.
As a Commutiny Media Associate Noor will be creating video products within his own community. He will also be hosting film screenings and media workshops in his community.

Madan Lal is a youth activist with Jagori Rural Resource Centre in Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh. He is currently associated with a rural knowledge centre that covers 80 villages in Kangra district, producing media products and conducting capacity building workshops. He will be contributing part time to the Commutiny Media Network.
As a Grassroots Media Network, Madan will be anchoring a media unit within the youth in his community. Madan will also be conducting workshops and creating videos.

Ram Tarun is a dalit activist and has been associated with Vividha Women's Resource Centre, Jaipur. He anchors public camopgns on issues like Education & draught relief in Alwar, Rajasthan. Ram is also associated with a monthly newspaper; Dalit Setu aimed at the youth in the region. He will be contributing part time to the Commutiny Media Network.
As a Commutiny Media Associate, Ram will be writing articles and research report on youth issues. Ram also wants to develop a common platform for youth active citizenship across Alwar & Sikar districts of Rajasthan.

Rajendra Sharma is a young activist associated with the Aajeevika Bureau in Udaipur. He works in the field of livelihood and immigration in the state. He will be contributing part time to the Commutiny Media Network.
As a Commutiny Media Associate, Rajendra will be writing on livelihood and immigration issues from a youth perspective in rural Rajasthan.

Smita Sen is a youth activist and a CYC fellow for the year 2009. She works in South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. She works on enhancing active citizenship amongst rural youth by intensive facilitation and emphasizing on creative medium of expression.
As a Commutiny Media Associate Smita will be concentrating on capacity building of rural youth and facilitating creation of media products on local issues. Smita will be using comic journalism as a tool for campaigns on social issues in Jangalia panchayat area. She hopes to train at least twenty comic journalists in her working area who can continue he work post her intervention.

Sumit is a filmmaker and youth activist based in Delhi. He is associated with Manzil, Delhi and Dusty Foot Productions. Sumit has been a 2008 batch fellow with CYC. Sumit has been working on environment issues and is a keen community video trainer as well. He will be contributing part time to the network.
As a Commutiny Media Associate, Sumit would be creating videos on youth participation and issues. He would be writing articles and also conducting Listening Spaces amongst youth from his community.

Sundar Mohan Murmu is a grassroots comics activist and has been associated with World Comics India for over a decade. Although based in Delhi, his work is focused in Jharkhand. He will be contributing to Commutiny Media Network full time.
As a Commutiny Media Associate, Sundar will be working with rural youth in Poorvi Singhbhoom district in Jharkhand. He plans to run a monthly comic poster campaign on the important youth issues of his community. He will also be conducting regular workshops with his community in grassroots comic. Sunder will also be researching important youth and media issue and compiling reports on them.

Suryakant Shelke is a youth activist based is Nanded, Maharashtra. He has been associated with PUKAR, Mumbai and works on issues related to livelihood and consumer rights. He has been a legal advisor to various civil society organisations in his community and also contributes to local newspaper, Lok Asha. He will be contributing full time to the Commutiny Media Network.
As a Commutiny Media Associate, Suryakant will be writing on youth issues and conducting Seminars on youth issues in his community. He will also be conducting research and writing reports on youth agenda.

Thakur Ram is a young media activist associated with Samavesh in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He works in the education sector intervening with teachers. He is also a keen video documenter. Thakur will be working full time with the Commutiny Media Network.
As a Commutiny Media Associate, Thakur will be creating videos on youth issues and also writing research reports. He will also be compiling research reports.

Wanshikokla Jamir is a youth activist based in Dimapur, Nagaland. She has been associated with Nagaland Grassroots Comic & Nagaland Youth Cluster and has also been a CYC fellow for the year 2008. She works mostly on livelihood issues with urban as well as rural youth in Nagaland. She will be contributing full time to the Commutiny Media network.
As a Commutiny Media Associate, Wangshikokla will be creating, facilitating creation of and disseminate grassroots comic products. Wangshikokla plans to conduct three grassroots comic courses and publish three issues of the bi-monthly periodical Comic punch over the next six month period.

Zuber Shaikh is a participatory video activist with SAATH, Ahmedabad. He is a video producer with the Samvada Community Video Unit set up by SAATH and Drishti Media. He will be contributing part time to the Commutiny Media Network.
As a Commutiny Media Associate, Zuber will be producing video clips on important issues within his community. He will also be writing research reports on conservation issues. Zuber will also conduct Listening Space meetings amongst the youth of his community.
